libgiftiio-dev software package provides IO library for the GIFTI cortical surface data format, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgiftiio-dev
libgiftiio-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgiftiio-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgiftiio-dev *
You will get with libgiftiio-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
